The third-ranked University of Minnesota women’s hockey team (13-4-1) takes on Bemidji State University (3-14-1) in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Women’s Face-Off Classic on Wednesday January 1.
The annual game elevates awareness for the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in
Eveleth, Minnesota, showcases women’s college hockey at its highest level and
will raise funds for the Hendrickson Foundation.

Olympic Gold and Silver medalist and former Gopher All-American Dani Brodzinski (Cameranesi) along with Audra Martin, TV studio host for the FanDuel Sports Network and Mike Modano, arguably the greatest American born NHL hockey player of all time, a Hall of Famer, Stanley Cup Champion, Olympic Silver Medalist and former Minnesota North Star, will be featured in a ceremonial pre-game face-off. All-female on-ice officiating crew.
U.S. Hockey Hall of Famers in attendance including Karyn Bye, Buzz Schneider, Lefty Curran, and Murray Williamson will be introduced during the second intermission.
The 2016 Spirit of Life Award recipient, Matt Olson, is also scheduled to be at the game.
1980 U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Buzz Schneider and Hall of Fame Museum board members will conduct on-ice postgame award ceremony, including the trophy presentation.
